INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Koinonia, a leading provider of services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Northeast Ohio, has partnered with Vitalxchange of Cleveland, Ohio, to launch an online support network through a smartphone app.
The move is designed to provide a supportive and private environment that connects families to discuss successes, challenges, best practices and other vital issues. Related resources and updates about Koinonia will be provided through the app.
“We are always seeking new ways to connect and understand the needs of families and guardians of the people we support,” said Diane Beastrom, president and CEO of Koinonia. “The Vitalxchange app is a great way to enhance the support of people caring for someone with IDD. It’s a private, judgement-free space for families to seek help and to help others.”
Parents, guardians, family members, and advocates of individuals who receive services from Koinonia are eligible to participate. There is no cost and no obligation to participate. In an effort to enhance safety and privacy, eligible users will be provided access codes to register.
