Vanita Hall – KE
Vanita has a natural ability to work with our individuals, often sensing when someone is about to have a behavior, understanding and working with them one-on-one to avoid an issue. She works in a pod with high-behavior clients, and finds ways to get them to exercise, and create crafts to decorate their space.
Vanita looks for every opportunity to get them out in the community and lifts them up with fun and creative activities and outings. She graciously takes on a leadership role with her peers, knowing the best way to get things done. She is the first to volunteer to go beyond for the individuals in our LIFE Center, whether stepping in to monitor a bus or help-out in another room, often seeing the opportunity to assist without being asked.
About The Peter Nebenzahl Champions Award
The Peter Nebenzahl Champion Award was created by Nancy Nebenzahl, a family member of an individual we serve.
The award is given annually to five deserving Koinonia DSPs who are living and applying the principles of trauma-informed care to the people that Koinonia serves.
