In 2018, the employment-population ratio—the proportion of the population that is employed— was 19.1 percent among those with a disability, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In contrast, the employment-population ratio for those without a disability was 65.9 percent.
At Koinonia, we’re working hard to change that!
We believe that jobs open doors – to community participation, confidence, and financial independence. Our Employment Services team offers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the pathway to community employment by utilizing individualized planning combined with our comprehensive curriculum.
Proceeds from the raffle will exclusively benefit our Employment Services division who is on the front lines, every day, with the right supports and guidance to help people with IDD be defined by their own strengths, abilities, and natural value, not by their disability.
