Koinonia Homes, Inc. today announced plans for a Carnival themed DSP Appreciation Party on September 12th at the Kiwanis Pavilion at 6363 Selig Drive in Independence Ohio. New this year, the hours of the party have been extended from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM to accommodate more staff. The popular food truck WRAP IT UP, will be providing the food and some of the entertainment. The party is part of a week-long celebration that recognizes national DSP Appreciation week.

“This party is one small way we can say thank you to Direct Support Professionals who work so hard to live our mission day in and day out,” said Diane Beastrom, President and CEO of Koinonia. “We hope everyone will plan to attend and join in the fun.”

WRAP IT UP Food Truck will be providing their famous 1-pound wraps with choices that include an overstuffed zesty veggie wrap, adobo chicken wrap, buffalo chicken mac wrap, and meatloaf wraps to the guests. In addition, they will also provide their “epic” crispy fried tater tots with a wide variety of toppings including bacon, fried or baked chicken, cheese, gravy, and Cajun Honey Pico sauce. Unlimited soft drinks and water will also be available.

”We’re very excited to offer this fun celebration to our Direct Support Professionals, who are so dedicated to empowering people who have developmental disabilities to live, work and thrive in our community,” said Julie Wagner, Chief People Officer. “Between the food truck, the music, and the prizes, we are creating a wonderful celebration that’s sure to memorable for everyone.”

The very popular Money Machine Tycoon Typhoon game will be making a return this year, along with Blackjack, Penguin Fish Fling, Giant Jenga, and Cornhole. Players win “Koinonia Cash” which can be turned in for tickets for a wide variety of raffle baskets. Our own Gail McPeake will be DJ for the party, which will also include dancing, a prize wheel, and other surprises. Swag bags will also be given to each attendee.
