Koinonia Homes, Inc., in partnership with CrossCountry Mortgage, Inc., will host an all-abilities spring dance party for people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their family and supporters, on Sunday May 6th. The dance party will be held at The Holiday Inn on Rockside Road, and feature the band The Angels in Disguise, a dance contest complete with Mirror Ball trophies, and a photo booth. Members of the community planned the event, which will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the grand ballroom.

The Holiday Inn on Rockside Road has an 8,520-sq-ft ballroom, one of the few venues large enough to handle the 300+ guests expected to attend the Spring Fling.  Attendees will enjoy a large dance floor and live music by The Angels in Disguise. The band, which features an eclectic mix of Rock n’ Roll, Blues, and Motown. It’s a repeat performance for the band, who made their Koinonia debut at the 2017 Spring Fling dance.

“We truly enjoy performing for this group,” said Wayne “Woody” Mesker, the band’s leader. “It’s part of our mission to bring joy to everyone through music.” The group is well known for their work raising money and awareness for Rock Against Dementia and other non-profit organizations.

The Spring Fling Dance is one of three signature events offered by Koinonia Homes each year to help people with I/DD get out an enjoy events in the community. Each event is coordinated by volunteers and paid for with sponsorships from corporations and other supporters. The group is currently seeking sponsors for a Fall Picnic and Hayride at the Chalet in Strongsville in October, as well as their annual holiday party in December.
