The Founder’s Award is the most prestigious award. It was established to specially recognize two associates who have consistently demonstrated exemplary efforts and outstanding service to our mission. This year’s recipients of the Founder’s Award have demonstrated their commitment to Koinonia through honest fellowship, interdependence, unselfish caring and compassionate partnering with people who have developmental disabilities to achieve healthy, fulfilling enriched lives. Each recipient received a special plaque and a check for $500. Their names are also added to the Founder’s Award plaque hanging in the home office. Winners are chosen by a committee that includes past winners of the award.
The 2017 Founder’s Award in the DSP Category goes to Mina Nardi, nominated by Manager Heidi Spaeth:
“When it comes to ethics, the ethic that Mina exemplifies every day is person centered supports. Mina has a knack for assisting individuals to be their best, preserve their dignity, increase their skills and connect them to the world and people they live with. Mina does this all with flair and attention to detail and ensures the staff that also work with them know what the goal is for this individual and how to accomplish it. She is a cheerleader for her individuals.”
